the architects of time

An incredible artistic signature

At the heart of EBEL watches beats an incredible artistic signature, one that shares with the finest architects a tireless quest for absolute beauty and perfection. One that honours know-how and talent. Founded in 1911 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy, the EBEL brand has built its reputation upon cardinal values uniting classical elegance and sculptural designs with a passion for fine workmanship and watchmaking mastery. Faithfully preserved and yet constantly reinterpreted, these values are the fingerprint of the Architects of Time.

Le corbusier

Naturally concerned with preserving its integrity, the Architects of Time have focused their efforts on the restoration of this historical monument. In tribute to the spirit of Le Corbusier and with the help of art historians and outstanding architects, they have highlighted the very essence of its temporal perfection. In becoming an echo of the EBEL philosophy and a magnificent showcase for its activities, the Villa Turque has found a new freedom to live, breathe and evolve.

Villa Turque

Vividly reflecting this spirit, the Villa Turque which was acquired in 1986 to mark EBEL's 75th anniversary is an inexhaustible source of inspiration in the brand's ongoing quest for timeless lines. Built in 1916 by Charles Edouard Jeanneret, the architect known as Le Corbusier, it epitomises an art that mingles visual harmony and practical functionality. Enshrining an architectural vision that now appears more contemporary than ever, the Villa Turque is the supremely mature expression of the purism advocated by Le Corbusier. Its influence is eminently perceptible in every EBEL watch.
